Dock at Wolf Bay Shore Lunch Site Gets New Cedar Decking

To increase safety before the busy July 4th week, the Sportsmen's Club has replaced the cedar decking on the dock at the Wolf Bay shore lunch site. Over the years the originalDock at Wolf Bay Shore Lunch Site decking had deteriorated and now, thanks to the high water this spring, a few boards were missing. Our thanks to Eagle Docks for their fast repair work.

In 1994, the Sportsmen's Club recognized the need for designated locations where boaters could safely pull up to shore and enjoy a shore lunch or picnic. Over the years, through cooperative agreements with the USDA Forest Service and the Minnesota DNR, the number of sites has grown to six.

CLMP+ Teams Complete "Round 2" WaterCLMP Lab Work Quality Sampling

Citizen Lake Monitoring Program (CLMP) volunteers from the Sportsmen's Club collected their 2nd set of water samples on June 23rd.

Samples will be collected from 8 sites on Lake Vermilion throughout the summer. After some on-shore processing by the volunteers, the refrigerated samples go to the MPCA's lab to identify the levels of chlorophyll-a, total phosphorus and sulfates.
